ARC Raiders Expedition 2 (Archive)
Archived summary of Expedition 2 timing, rewards, and economy shifts - bundled JSON lists sparse stage detail, so use this page for dates, thresholds, and historical comparison.
Expedition 2 is completed in our data. The JSON row keeps the core schedule and reward shape, but it does not ship the kind of full stage table we use for the live Expedition 3 guide.
That sparse data is only part of the story, though. Expedition 2 is the cycle where Embark clearly responded to the first wave of community feedback. The reset loop stayed intact, but the economy target came down, catch-up was added, and the whole system became easier to recommend to normal players.
Key dates (site data)
| Milestone | Date |
|---|---|
| Project start | 2025-12-22 |
| Signup open | 2026-02-25 |
| Departure window | 2026-03-01 - 2026-03-02 |
| Reset | 2026-03-02 |
Community references usually place the final departure around March 1-2, 2026, roughly in the 08:00-09:00 UTC range. The exact minute is less important than the pattern: short sign-up window, then a synchronized cutoff.
Economy knobs (site data)
| Knob | Value |
|---|---|
| Stash sell value for max skill points | 3,000,000 coins |
| Max skill points (this departure) | 5 |
| Max stash slots (reward text) | 24 |
That drop from 5 million to 3 million is the headline change. Expedition 2 is the point where the prestige loop stopped feeling tuned only for ultra-rich accounts.
Historical stage shape
Our JSON does not preserve a full Expedition 2 checklist, but historical references generally describe it like this:
| Stage | Commonly cited historical requirement set |
|---|---|
| Stage 1 - Foundation | 150 Metal Parts, 200 Plastic Parts, 80 ARC Alloy, 15 Steel Springs |
| Stage 2 - Core Systems | 35 Durable Cloth, 25 Wires, 20 Electrical Components, 4 Cooling Coils |
| Stage 3 - Framework | 4 Light Bulbs, 30 Batteries, 10 Shredder Gyros, 1 Exodus Module |
| Stage 4 - Outfitting | 5 Frequency Mod Boxes, 5 Advanced Electrical Components, 3 Ion Sputters |
| Stage 5 - Load Stage | Same four category buckets, with tuned totals depending on the reference |
| Stage 6 - Departure | Manual sign-up and shared cutoff |
We keep that table here to make the archive useful, not to pretend the site has hidden Expedition 2 automation. Use the current Expedition 3 page for live checklist behavior.
Rewards (as recorded)
Permanent: upgraded outfit rewards, up to 5 Skill Points, and cumulative stash growth.
Temporary: stronger stacked XP, Scrappy, and repair bonuses than Expedition 1.
The broader player-facing reward summary usually includes:
- upgraded Expedition 2 Indicator icon,
- evolved Patchwork Raider outfit with more toggles and colors,
- Scrappy Beanie,
- +12 more stash slots for 24 total after two completed cycles,
- 0-5 new skill points, plus retro Expedition 1 catch-up for missed accounts.
The big design change: catch-up
Expedition 2 introduced the catch-up rule that let players recover missed Expedition 1 skill points at roughly 300k stash value per point instead of the normal 600k. That was the system-level answer to the launch problem: players who skipped the first cycle were no longer permanently buried forever.
Embark also said the quiet part out loud in February 2026: “We’ve heard your feedback about the required Stash value for maximum rewards being too high, and have decided to lower the requirement to 3 million Coins (600k per Skill Point)… introducing a Skill Point catch up system.”
Community reaction
Where Expedition 1 was remembered for frustration, Expedition 2 was remembered as the “devs listened” moment. The mood shifted hard toward “massive W” because the prestige fantasy stayed rewarding while the economy became much more approachable.
That is why Expedition 2 still matters in 2026 archive discussions: it is the patch where the system started feeling sustainable instead of punitive.
